Established U.S. and International Experience Our founder CBA, LTD was founded in January 1982 by Jerry R. Svee after 13 years of service with a major ENR400 general construction company located in Minneapolis, MN. Originally joining this general construction company as a project manager for the 32-story Kellogg Square Apartments building located in downtown St. Paul, MN, Mr. Svee’s responsibilities subsequently progressed to include the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. During his tenure, Mr. Svee played a pivotal role in expanding the general construction company’s construction services nationally and diversifying its project portfolio to incorporate commercial and corporate office buildings, hotels and resorts, retail and service centers, multi-family residential housing and industrial projects. Our projects CBA, LTD’s first project was the thirteen story Normandale Lake Office Park, Phase 1 (310,000 SF; 27,800 m2), located in Bloomington, MN. Our company then proceeded with project management for the office park’s 18- and 25-story office towers as part of the Second and Third project phases. To date, CBA, LTD has provided project management services for 11 high-rise office buildings, totaling more than 4,300,000 SF (399,500 m2) plus parking garage facilities for over 13,200 automobiles. Our high-rise portfolio includes two 25-story towers and one 31-story tower. Simultaneously, our project portfolio has expanded with numerous low- and mid-rise office buildings, retail and service centers, warehouses and hospitality-related projects. Headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, CBA, LTD has achieved greater than 50 percent of our sales volume at other U.S. and international locations. We have provided services for both new construction and renovation projects. Our clients Serving a broad variety of clients, CBA, LTD’s clients include corporate, real estate development, real estate investment trusts, lenders and architectural entities. Project delivery approaches Project delivery approaches have included the traditional design-bid-award, including the negotiated construction agreement variations, such as design-build and fast-track arrangements. Our company has extensive experience with competitively bidding projects on both the single- and multi-prime basis. While effort should be made to avoid the perils of underestimated budgets, we are also very mindful that non-competitive and inflated cost estimates most often lead to unnecessary design compromises and debt. |
